Paper Submission

Abstract for Full Paper

A 1-page extended abstract is to be submitted by 19.May 2013. This abstract should provide a clear description of the problem addressed, the methodology, the results, and the novelty and significance. We will review the abstracts single-blind, that means the reviewers will be anonymous, but not the authors. Therefore, please add the author name and affiliation on the abstract after the tile.

The length of one page is just the plain abstract. Additional material (e.g. references) can be on a 2nd page.

The content of the paper/abstract must relate to the scope of the workshop: persuasive technology for teaching, education, and learning. It should focus on one or more of the following topics:
  • Theory and methodology of persuasive design.
  • Persuasive technology as basis for new learning.
  • Persuasive learning objects.
  • Case studies with persuasive technology.
  • Context-aware learning designs.
  • Ethics of persuasion and learning.
  • Persuasive evaluation and tools.

The abstract should be in PDF format, 10pt font, A4 page with 1 inch border margins.
Submission will be done electronically through the link at the bottom of this page (on EasyChair, select "abstract for full paper").

The program committee will review the abstracts and will notify the authors by 25.May 2013 of acceptance.

Final camera-ready papers need to be received by 30.June 2013. They should be in PDF format and must not be longer than eight A4 pages. Papers will be made available online on this web page.

A suitable selection of submitted papers will be published in a special issue of "Persuasive Technology in Teaching" of the journal "International Journal of Conceptual Structures and Smart Applications".

Abstract for Poster

We are also accepting posters, for describing new ideas and concepts that have no yet been fully tested, but that are valuable to the community. While these can describe work in progress, they will also undergo a peer review process and must have sufficient significance and relevance for the workshop topic of "persuasive technology in learning, education and teaching".

The submission of a poster idea follows the same guidelines as for full papers, i.e. submit a 1-page abstract (as PDF file) by 19.May 2013 through the submission link at the bottom of this page. On the EasyChair submission form, you need to select "abstract for poster".

Abstract for Technical Demonstration

We are encouraging the submission of demonstrations of persuasive technology in the context of learning, education, and teaching. This can be persuasive learning objects, tools for creating such persuasive learning objects, or technologies for the delivery of persuasive learning.

Please prepare a 1-page abstract, in which the following details of the demonstration are pointed out clearly: technical concept, involvement of users (how many at one time? how long is one demonstration run?), significance regarding persuasive TEL, hardware/software that is being brought, and requirements from the organisers (space, electrical power, others). This abstract is to be submitted through the same web link (see below) as the other submission types by 19.May 2013, indicating that this is an "abstract for technical demonstration".
